One of our asbestos removal clients has been given the green light on a North West housing tender, to provide asbestos removal services, thanks to the writing skills of our in-house tender experts.
As asbestos is one of the world's deadliest materials, our highly specialist team had to evidence the client's robust health and safety procedures.
The extremely detailed Invitation to Tender (ITT) submission, evidenced with business collateral, highlighted and alleviated the awarding body's concerns, with staff training in the safe disposal of asbestos, as well as the safeguarding of ALL people, in particular, tenants, neighbours and the local public.
Asbestos still claims in excess of 2,000 lives each year in the UK alone, due to the inhalation of fibres, which can lie dormant for many years. Up until the early 1980's, asbestos had long been used in the construction industry, as a form of insulation.
Our bid-management team also made the contracting authority aware that the client was already working with a range of registered providers, Arms Length Management Organisations (ALMOs) and local authorities, to remove asbestos safely from homes and community buildings.
The contract is due to start imminently, and we wish the client luck.
Thornton & Lowe works with a range of clients to help them through each stage of the tender process.
