Bedelands Academy: Construction of a new secondary school near Burgess Hill
UK
Chichester
West Sussex County Council
A contract for the provision of a new school development at Burgess Hill, West Sussex is being tendered by West Sussex County Council (WSCC) / the Employer in accordance with the PCR 2015 Restricted Procedure.

This project is being procured as a single stage design and build contract, WSCC are seeking a fixed price lump sum for the entirety of the works. Further to this, the design minimises, as far as practicable, embodied carbon.

One of the main design principles has also been to develop a building that sits sympathetically within the rich natural landscape of the site, which already includes hedgerows, mature oak trees and habitat areas for dormice and bats, which are all being retained and enhanced. The landscape design balances the need for compliant sports pitches, parking and accessible access throughout the school site with sustainable, natural drainage solutions, further tree-planting and inspiring outdoor learning areas.

Inclusion sits at the heart of this design, operating at different scales, from the school’s transport and access strategy, through to the Special Support Centre and wider facilities for special educational needs and disabilities being fully incorporated into the core of the school.
For full details, please see Document set 2: The Specification.

The full tender pack is available via our e-tendering portal: https://atamis

T24-009BUS PEACEPLUS Skeoge United Reissue
UK
Derry
Derry City and Strabane District Council
Derry City and Strabane District Council invite suppliers to tender for a PeacePlus Skeoge United programme. The purpose of this tender is to deliver a community cohesion programme based in the Skeoge area of Ballynarett DEA. The area is a new, fast developing social housing neighbourhood with approximately 7000 residents by 2025. It is predominantly CNR/Single-identity, and the community has a wide range of complex and inter-connected problems (and opportunities), which have led to low levels of civic participation. There are increasing resident concerns in relation to the lack of community development infrastructure and amenities, including the need for physical community space and youth facilities. This tender is designed to meet some of those expressed needs. The project will consist of the following 2 elements: 1. Capital: purchase a minibus and 3 pop up marquees. The minibus is essential to transport participants to and from the area, to ensure cross-community engagement between Ballyarnett and wider geographical areas. Given the lack of physical community space directly in the area, the provision of the minibus will also open up access to other wider venues which otherwise would not be accessible to residents due to cost and/or lack of access of other transport. Marquees are essential to provide venue options for shared space programming within the immediate area. 2. Programming: Variety of cross-community activities delivered mainly within the Skeoge/Ballynarett DEA area of Derry~Londonderry. Please refer to the CfT documents for further detail.

The vision for the project is to design and build a new state of the art hospital that will play a vital role at the heart of the community, placing digital innovation at the forefront of health services designed to tackle inequalities and meet the needs of a growing and ageing population. The ambition is that this project will transform the quality of healthcare for the people of Cheshire and across the Northwest of England.

At the centre of the programme will be the “hospital 2.0” concept, a vision for how hospital schemes can be delivered with greater efficiency and reduced cost. An integrated systems approach will provide “optimised, standardised and repeatable solutions for scheme development, design, construction, and operation.

The purpose of this procurement exercise is to appoint an Architect Lead Design Team (including Mechanical, Electrical, Structural, Master-planning (This is site wide, rather than the master-planning associated with just the hospital buildings), BIM support, Sustainability (including BNG)) to provide services covering RIBA Stages 2 to 3. For the purposes of this tender, it should be assumed that the successful practice will not novate over to a contractor team but instead be invited to remain with the trust in an advisory capacity through the build phases.

The Authority is seeking interest from consultants who will provide the service of an Architect who will also act as the lead design coordinator of an Architect-Led Design Team (ALDT), including Wayfinding, Digital Architect, and the below services:

Core Architectural Services, Lead Design Coordinator and the below specialisms:
• Digital Architect
• Daylight/Sunlight
• Wind
• Landscaping
• Catering
• Waste and Logistics
• Lighting
• Acoustics
• Inclusive Design
• Façade Access
• Façade Engineering

Core Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MEP) Engineering Services and the below specialisms:
• BREEAM
• Digital infrastructure around Biodiversity net gain
• Net Zero Carbon
• IT and AV
• Lifts
• Security
• Fire Engineering

Core Civil and Structural (C&S) Engineering Services and the below specialism:
• Transport Planning

Please note that Principal Designer services are to be provided by others and not by the Architect Lead Design Team.

The Authority reserves the right to extend the contract for the Architect Lead Design Team beyond RIBA stage 3 without the need for a further procurement exercise but through way of novation. In exercising its discretion to extend, the Authority will consider the successful bidder’s performance up to the point it is considering any extension and weather any benefit to the overall programme to extending with the current supplier outweighs any potential benefit in carrying out a further procurement exercise.

The contract will include the NEC4 Professional Service Contract (PSR) set out in Annex A1. It is vital that the bidder review these carefully and take account of all information such as key performance i

Mechanical Tugs
UK
Bristol
NHS Blood and Transplant
NHSBT is committed to reducing manual handling activity wherever possible. Through Market research a
feasibility pilot with a manual handling equipment (MHE) supplier was undertaken on a mobile team and has
proven to reduce the Manual Handling of the IT cabinets/Roll cages. The devices have been very positively
received by the team. Hence, the introduction of pedestrian tugs onto the Blood Donation teams is seen as a
key piece of equipment to help reduce manual handling risk as it reduces the physical pushing/pulling of cages.
The purpose of this document is to provide an outline specification for the initial purchase of 52 battery-operated
pedestrian tugs for use on Blood Donation mobile teams. Including the ongoing maintenance and repair of the
pedestrian tugs for an initial period of 3 years with the option to extend for a further two options of one year,
bringing the contract duration to 5 years.
NHSBT has circa 52 mobile teams who travel to different venues, in various locations within England, to collect
blood component donations from donors. This involves transporting all equipment and consumables required to
collect the target number of donations, from the team base to the scheduled venue. The longest journey time
from team base to venue is approximately 2 hours. The teams transport the critical equipment and consumables
needed to collect component donations in roll cages. They are currently manually handling the roll cages on and
off a 7.5 tonne vehicle.
Should the number of mobile teams increase, we would also require the ability to either purchase or lease
additional pedestrian tugs.
