Security Tenders

Most businesses, both public and private, look to outsource their security requirements to a third party specialist. As a result, there's lots of contracts and tenders available for security businesses to generate partnerships. Bidding for security tenders is a great way to grow or diversify your business, opening up lucrative contract opportunities. However, this can come with its own challenges as finding, developing and winning tenders can be daunting, suck up important resource, and not always be successfully rewarding with a lack of knowledge and experience in bid writing. How can I win a security tender?

With a broad range of services comes a high volume of opportunities within the security industry. This also presents a lot of competition, making tendering for security contracts quite challenging.

That's why it is important to evidence and thoroughly explain the solution your business can provide. In our experience, we have generally found the following helps to win a security tender:

 1. - You should show how robust your recruitment and vetting procedures are. Including an aspect of social value in here (as discussed below) would also be worthwhile.

 2. - Effective monitoring and supervision of operatives should also be considered. This should be in-line with how you measure and report on performance overall and how your team play a critical role in this.

 3. - Social value is increasingly important across all public sector tenders, including security tenders, therefore you should demonstrate the positive impact you could have both on the contract and in the wider community longer-term. This should also how you services can have a positive effect on driving efficiencies and cost savings.

 4. - With the increasing and evolving risks to businesses and properties across the UK, many buyers will be looking for innovation, particularly in how you can respond to issues timely and professionally, mitigating and planning for any scenario.

 5. - Continuous training can help support with the point above and should be discussed to evidence the skills and accreditations your business and team have to be equipped and confident in their approach to respond to security challenges.

Invitation to Tender Security Services - The Group requires a modern and flexible approach to providing security across its campuses and satellite sites. Primarily focussed on keeping our learners, staff and visitors safe at all times. In providing security it is important that the security provider understands the link between pastoral support and safety intervention. As such we need a commitment from a provider that has experience of working with young and vulnerable people with the ability to provide coaching and support as a method to engage learners in college life and learning.Staff will need to have experience of working with, and coaching, young and vulnerable people. It is important that security is visible around campus areas at all times during core hours and to be prepared to challenge and support behaviours by:• talking with young people• listening to corridor conversations• identifying and reporting to SLT potential issues• defusing behavioural situations• moving learners from campus spaces in to classrooms• vigilant approach to lanyards and on campus safety• supervision of campus entrances and exits at the start and end of the dayOur security provider will be expected to work closely with the executive, safeguarding and student support teams and provide information on emerging issues and trends such as knife crime, bullying, gang crime and social media crazes. The provider should maintain training and development of personnel deployed under the services to be able to respond to immediate security risks as required including physically removal of individuals, de-escalating aggressive conflict and responding quickly to lockdown PAP processes and implementing safety actions. We are keen to work with a provider who may find efficiencies by also training and developing RNN staff on security and safety management. The college operates its core learning activities hours from 8 am to 6 pm but also provides evening classes up to 9 pm and has a team of estates personnel that could provide complimentary cover for building security and critical incidents.Security should also cover physical building and services safety and as such should work closely with the Estates team on identifying and recording health and safety compliance issues such as fire escapes, electrical faults, water ingress and leaks, and property damage. The Group has Closed Circuit Television across its campuses and the security provider will be expected to work with the college on access and control of footage used in providing security services to the Group.

Development of modelling and scenarios for achieving the goals and targets of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework
UK London Defra Network eTendering Portal

Nature is declining globally at rates unprecedented in human history with around 1 million animal and plant species threatened with extinction within decades . Human activities have pushed many species to the brink of extinction and ecosystems to degradation through land- and sea-use change, over exploitation, pollution, climate change, and invasive species. Biodiversity loss is not only an environmental issue, but also a developmental, economic, security, and social one. To date, agreements to halt and reverse biodiversity loss have failed to reach the desired targets. In December 2022, the 15th meeting of the Conference of the Parties (COP15) to the Convention on Biological Diversity (CBD) adopted the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework (KMGBF), a landmark agreement for biodiversity. It sets out four long-term goals to be achieved by 2050, related to the CBD’s 2050 Vision for Biodiversity of “a world of living in harmony with nature where, by 2050, biodiversity is valued, conserved, restored and wisely used, maintaining ecosystem services, sustaining a healthy planet and delivering benefits essential for all people”, and 23 short-term targets to be achieved by 2030, which will contribute towards achieving these goals. The aim of this research is to align and further build on the best available and most appropriate models (biophysical, social, environmental, economic) with the KMGBF to provide clear pathways and insight into the physical, environmental and socio-economic changes that are required to achieve the framework.
The aim of this research is to align and further build on the best available and most appropriate models (biophysical, social, environmental, economic) with the KMGBF to provide clear pathways and insight into the physical, environmental and socio-economic changes that are required to achieve the framework.
This may be achieved through the following objectives:
• Design a quantitative modelling approach that assesses existing and anticipated global policies against KMGBF goals and targets in the context of a dynamic global physical, social and economic environment. This can include predictions that take into account direct and indirect drivers of biodiversity loss.
• Identify and/or develop scenarios and their respective uncertainties. These scenarios will be based on global policies, commitments and economic/environmental baselines to be simulated in this modelling approach reflecting different evidence about existing and planned policies' effectiveness and the future state of the world.
• Establish the current ‘gap’ for achieving the KMGBF goals and targets. This will identify pathways and drivers to provide predictions of where we will get to and when, and assess their feasibility under these different scenarios.
• Identify the types of policy physical, environmental and socio-economic changes that are required to address the ‘gap’ and achieve multiple global goals/targets simultaneously.
• Identify synergies and trade-offs between individual KMGBF targets and with other frameworks, including the Paris Agreement and the Sustainable Development Goals.
Anticipated outcomes of the project include:
• Improved understanding of different pathways for achieving the goals and targets of the KMGBF and the drivers behind them, using models to answer specific policy-relevant research questions.
• A clearer insight into the impacts of future policy decisions through a better understanding of the most effective interventions, their global/local context, any unintended consequences, and the barriers currently preventing their implementation.
• Accessible knowledge base on biodiversity, ecosystem service and relevant socio-economic modelling through clearly communicating findings in an engaging and impactful manner, using innovative communication methods such as infographics, as well as by ma
