The Education Funding Agency (EFA) have announced that the 2016-2017 Condition and Improvement Fund (CIF) has awarded over £435 million to 1,276 projects across 1,030 academies and sixth-form colleges.
The highest condition CIF priorities this year were compliance and health and safety, followed by projects which address the most significant building condition issues.
According to the EFA, the Fund was 4 times oversubscribed and a significant number of projects have not been awarded funding. This only demonstrates how competitive the market has become. Only bids which demonstrated a high project need and aligned to CIF priorities succeeded.
