A recent article published online stated that the public sector procurement process was often "confusing and overly prescriptive". This is often the experience of potential suppliers, leading to questions regarding the value of a complicated approach. The feeling was that the process could be reformed to be more straight forward without " loss of quality, safety or operational effectiveness".
If the process is reformed, there will potentially be great benefit to suppliers and to the public sector authorities. A simplified process would mean easier access for all suppliers and potential cost savings for the authority throughout.
