An article published online recently discussed how Bristol City Council are looking at ways to make it easier for SMEs to bid for IT contracts. Such initiatives include offering smaller packages, and contracts for shorter durations. By having a more flexible approach to their procurement process, Bristol City Council hope to encourage more SMEs to bid for contracts.
It is great to see Public Sector authorities putting these measures in place to help SMEs. Hopefully this will become the norm across all local authorities, meaning more opportunities for SMEs.
