Thornton & Lowe Director, Dave Thornton, talks about recent goings on, as well as a move into the Scottish market and the business receiving a prestigious accreditation.
Well, it’s been a busy time at Thornton & Lowe of late, sometimes it feels like spinning plates… but we’re used to that and we never break any!
Over the course of the week, we’ve confirmed our place as one of the as one of the UK’s leading bid and business-management specialists, by expanding our operations north into Scotland.
From our base in Cupar, Fife, which is headed up by fellow Director, Tom Anderson, we’re able to access major cities and towns like Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen and Dundee.
Since we opened our doors in 2009, we’ve always looked to drive business growth and re-invest in the business. Since then we’ve seen a rise in demand for our bid management, business development, support, mentoring, procurement and training services.
Our aim is to give more Scottish businesses the opportunity to access our expertise and portfolio of bespoke business products. Clients range from the small local family business through every level to major blue-chip companies such as SSE, Murphy Group, The Stobart Group, Energy Saving Trust, UK Biobank, Bosch, Tesan and Pfizer. We also have a wealth of international experience in China, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Dubai and mainland Europe.
We understand the constant commercial pressures on businesses to grow generically and how bidding for contacts, as well as sound business management has become a key factor in this. Thanks to our increasing group of clients, we’re already working in Falkirk, East Dunbartonshire and East Ayrshire… and that’s testament to not just our staff on the ground, but everyone in both our bid and business support teams.
In other news, we’re delighted to announce that following a strict evaluation of our quality management systems, that we have been awarded the coveted ISO:9001 accreditation, from internationally recognised certification company, QMS.
The audit by QMS covered every part of our operations, but receiving the award shows that we're constantly meeting the needs of our customers, shareholders and employees.
Everyone has worked really hard at Thornton & Lowe to achieve this, which has always been vital to our success in getting the standard. As a business, we never rest on our laurels, we’re always looking to move onwards and upwards together.
We’re all excited about the future at Thornton & Lowe, as the ISO:9001 approval from QMS shows both existing and potential clients that we provide a quality service that will not only meet, but exceed the unique demands of the diverse industries we serve.
