The HS2 rail project is set to put out £7bn worth of tenders for European construction companies to bid for multi-million pound contracts supplying tunnels, viaducts and project management.

Following the Government’s announcements on Phase Two of HS2, connecting Birmingham to Manchester and Leeds, dubbed HS3, HS2 Ltd has already awarded a series of multi-million pound contracts, including:
Lot 1 – covering engineering services for the west leg of the route, from Birmingham to Manchester.
Awarded to: AECOM Ltd
Value: £3.1m
Lot 1 – covering engineering services for the east leg of the route, from Birmingham to Leeds.
Awarded to: Mott MacDonald
Value: £3.2m
The Lot 1 contracts have been awarded to March 2015 and will include the work to refine the route proposals post consultation on Phase Two.
Lot 2 – covering environmental services for both legs of the route. The purpose of this contract is to develop the sound demonstrations to be used as part of the Phase Two consultation.
