Good news for SMEs in the Government's proposal to reform procurement procedures.
The Government Construction Strategy Implementation report (July 2012) indicated that new models of procurement would be tested with a view to making public sector contracts more accessible to SMEs. The report highlights that the Government are keen to engage SMEs in improving construction and to offer more support to SMEs on their supply chain.
The report is a further indication that the Government are aware of the barriers that SMEs face, and that they are also aware of the need to break these barriers down.
